We will gather for an afternoon and – as the name suggests – write some words, together.
The day will be hosted by writers and Dark Angels partners Neil Baker and Jamie Jauncey.
Neil and Jamie will be offering a series of writing exercises and word experiments from the Dark Angels playbook, and adding some new ideas into the mix. We’ll also be creatively responding to this very special venue, the Royal Botanic Garden.
It’s an opportunity for you to enjoy some creative connection through words, meet kindred spirits, and learn whatever you want to take away as learning.

Venue: Patrick Geddes Room, Royal Botanic Garden, Inverleith Row, Edinburgh EH3 5LR
Time: Saturday 8th November 2025, 12.30-4 pm
We are offering tickets at three different prices:
– £95, if your employer is paying, or if you would like to help fund reduced-cost tickets
– £75, the standard ticket price
– £35, if this is what you can afford just now

If the cost of travelling to Edinburgh makes even these lower-cost tickets difficult for you to afford, please let us know and we will see if we can offer a small bursary.
The Venue
With views of ferns and palms, the Patrick Geddes room at the Royal Botanic Garden seamlessly blends the outside and inside spaces.
Affectionately known as “The Botanics”, the Royal Botanic Garden is a global centre for biodiversity science, horticulture and education, boasting a diverse collection of plants including alpines, ferns, rhododendrons, and a native plant collection.
