Jason has developed an enviable reputation amongst other print makers and art collectors for his ability to convey a powerful sense of atmosphere and drama through both landscape and the built environment. His most recent collection, based on the London stretch of the Thames, was exhibited by Eames Fine Art in Bermondsey in 2023 and was called, ‘The River, part two – cometh light.’

The day will involve a number of themed ‘writing stops’ on our walk, where Jason will talk about ideas that inspire him in his work, such as light, water, air, buildings etc.

The day will run from 10.30 until 3.30, and we will meet at Eames Fine Art Studio, 54-58 Tanner Street, London, SE1 3PH. It will be led by Dark Angel Martin Lee, along with Jason.

We’ll start by getting to know Jason and his work, examples of which will be on display in the studio, before going on a guided walk of the area adjacent to the river around Southwark and North Greenwich.

There will be time to capture thoughts at each themed ‘writing stop’.

There are plenty of places to stop and pick up food or you are welcome to bring your own lunch with you.

After the walk, we’ll head back to the studio, where there will be a longer opportunity to write, either to sharpen up early ideas or create something different altogether.

Along the way, there will be opportunities to share and hear contributions from each other, to gain further inspiration and ideas.

By the end of the day, the hope is that we’ll all leave with deeper observational skills, the beginning of a new body of work to develop later and the memory of a great day spent in the company of a skilled, thoughtful artist and with other Dark Angels.
