Nature

I’m back with a one-word offering for you.

This time it’s the word Nature.

Nature

Of the earth

An inherent character or quality

What comes to mind?

The natural world – animals, plants, the land, the sea.

Nature versus nurture.

It’s in their nature.

Mother nature.

We are nature.

Nature is with me even when I’m not outside. Inside, I can hear the wind, but it doesn’t budge my Boston Ferns. I can see my dog and hear his nails tapping as he moves around. I can feel the smooth edges of the wooden planks that were once a tree that now form my desk. I breathe the air.

Outside, I can see the trees and hear the wind that moves them. I sense my dog brush past me, his padding feet muffled by the soft lawn. I can smell and taste the air as I breathe it – grass definitely, rotting apples maybe. I touch the dry oakmoss and crumble it between my fingers.

Where might this week’s word take you?

Can you find five minutes to spend some time outside in nature?

Work through your senses and see what each can find while you’re out there.

I can see…I can hear…I can touch…I can taste…I can smell…

As always, we love to see what you come up with, if you’d like to share.
